pkpgcounter is a generic Page Description Language parser which is used by PyKota? to analyze print jobs' datas and compute the number of pages in them. It can also compute the percent of ink coverage needed to print several types of documents.

pkpgcounter is distributed and licensed under the terms of the GNU General Public License of the Free Software Foundation

You can use pkpgcounter without PyKota? if you want, it is completely independant.

You can download pkpgcounter from the official website : http://www.pykota.com/software/pkpgcounter/download

pkpgcounter currently recognizes the following Page Description Languages :

  • Postscript (both DSC compliant and binary)
  • PDF
  • PCLXL (aka PCL6)
  • PCL3/4/5
  • DVI
  • TIFF
  • ESC/P2
  • OpenDocument? (ISO/IEC DIS 26300)
  • Zenographics ZjStream?

The three latter ones, as well as some TIFF documents, are only supported in page counting mode for now.
